Bay waterfront house, with only a short 2 min drive (12 min walk) to neighborhood beach (A drive on beach too!). No more lugging all your beach supplies.
This stunning newly remodeled from top to bottom bay house in Jamaica Beach boast breathtaking sunsets and sunrises, as well as, canal living. Enjoy both fishing and crabbing from the back yard, or go fishing in the bay with your boat. Adults and kids even love playing in the canal on the provided kayaks, or swimming. If you would like to go to the beach, our community has drive on beaches too! No need to carry everything to the beach, when you can drive on with your car/truck or rentable golf carts. Enjoy listening to the calls of sea gulls, or watching the pelicans flying from bay to beach (or in the evenings the reverse). Feel all your stress wash away at Our Happy Place!
Both the interior and exterior of Our Happy Place has been given special attention for a peaceful and fun getaway with beach decor and light airy colors.
Located just 11 miles from the Seawall Blvd in Galveston. Our community has several restaurants, bars, coffee house, grocery store, etc.

• Chef’s Kitchen: Spacious, modern kitchen comes with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops with breakfast bar (with granite waterfall edge) that sits 7-8 people. For those coffee lovers, we offer Ke-urig K-Duo Single Serve K-Cup Pod and 12 Cup Carafe Brewer. Kitchen comes fully stocked.
• Living Room: Leather couch, love seat, and oversized chair (+ 3 ottomans). 55” 4K Smart HDTV (most streaming apps available with your subscription). WiFi included.
• Game Room: With shuffleboard, couch and chairs and large 60” 4K Smart HDTV (most streaming apps available with your subscription). WiFi included. Perfect for the kids, or young at heart adults.
• Bedroom #1: King Size (sleeps 2-3)
• Bedroom #2: Queen Size Bed (sleeps 2)
• Recessed Boat Dock Area: Great to dock boat or swim/float without boat traffic. And the canals are No Wake zones.

• Park Pavilion - has 6 picnic tables available for use. First come, first serve.

No pets of any kind. There are plenty of other rentals that allow pets, but we do not!

Must be 25 or older to rent.
It is a rarity, but service can be unreliable on Galveston Island. We apologize, but we cannot guarantee that these amenities will be working during your stay. We are unable to offer refunds for disruption to these services.

Summary: Fantastic stay for 3 nights! The house is a great layout for people traveling as couples or with older kids. The top level has kitchen, living room, bedrooms, and a bathroom. Has a patio with table and chairs and very nice loungers It is accessed by exterior stairs- meaning, the stairs are not inside the house. No big deal, but might make it less ideal to house young kids on separate floors.Lower level has a studio style layout with king bed, shuffleboard, couches, big TV, bathroom with W/D.Outside is awesome! Covered patio with lots of options for seating (swinging bench, bar with high top chairs, adirondac chairs.) Yard is very open.Cornhole is under the bar and easy to setup. Be on lookout for cute tree frogs that tag along though.We kayaked directly out of the canal- very pretty and relaxing. If you are a small person, there are two smaller kayaks for those under 130 lbs. And one large 2-person kayak. Lifejackets are in bin next to kayaks.You can fish into canal...which we did a lot. Caught a couple Croaker and Sheepshead. BRING POLES if you don't want to buy them in town. Lots of great live bait shops nearby.Used the gas grill- and it worked great.Beach is very close, but just a bit far on foot. Very bike-able or scooter-able though. Lastly, it is a quiet and safe area. Most of the neighbors appear to be retired folks or people traveling with kids. Galveston attractions and retail is about 20 minute drive alongside the beach.Loved our stay!

Summary: We had such a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend staying here. Host are very sweet and helpful. We came in with our friend for the weekend for the Lone Star bike rally and did not want to be in the heart of Galveston with the crowds and this was perfect! Even did a little fishing in the evening in the backyard and it was so much fun! We will be back!

Summary: Great communication from host, cute place, good location. As usual with rentals bring your own spices for cooking, kitchen well equipped for all other cooking needs, first time i didn't have to buy TP and paper towels for a 3 day stay.
